Solo Exhibition [Written on Water]
Since ancient times, humans have created a variety of names to describe weather phenomena such as rain and clouds. In Japan, there are said to be as many as four hundred names for rain.
On the other hand, if we look at rain as a phenomenon, we can see that rain– groundwater–spring water–river–ocean–water vapor–cloud–rain … and dynamically circulating between the earth’s surface and the atmosphere. We living creatures exist in the midst of this cycle and sustain our lives with the help of water.
From a bird’s-eye view of the Earth’s surface, our existence beneath the vortex of the atmosphere is small, precious, and foolish.
We can hear the voice from the drops of water falling on the surface of the earth… I am who I am…
In the rainy season of Japan, I’ll create the works that resonates with the outdoor rain. I would like to express a bird’s eye view of the earth’s surface through installations and paintings, and reconsider the nature of human existence.
