Maruyama painted “Colors and Shapes of Time” series in 1988, those are endless continuation of arabesque patterns symbolizing the history of humankind. This installation work “Human Time Arc” expresses one piece of arabesque, and relates with those paintings.
You see many portraits printed on the surface of the thin cloths. Those are taken from incidents news around the world. Those portraits can be seen from the reverse sides of the cloths as the persons in opposite position. It means that victim can be assailant, truth is not only one in almost incidents.
